“ Huge portions, I ordered the Ruben and could only eat half. The fries and delicious. The apple sauce is baby approved. The wings are smoked, and all the containers are clearly labeled. ”
“ Incredible service (DeMont and Maddie), beer is cold, burgers are well seasoned and amazing to the last bite. ”
“ I loved everything about this place. Great burgers, the best tallow fries ever! Fresh ingredients prepared in a way that you know the chef cared about what he/she is doing. The server was friendly and professional. ”
“ We just visited the 2nd and newest location, which is closest to us out in Toano and its just as great as their original location. The burgers are always cooked perfectly to order and the fries are hard to beat. Will be back again! ”
“ 10/10- Not so fuzzy navel, mushroom & Swiss burger, lemon pepper wings, hot dogs, & chilly whips! Get the appetizer fries to share, & make sure you get extra dipping sauce on the side! Love the original location, and this one as well! It’s nice to have a little more room to stretch out, & a pool table for hanging around. Jessica was our server, and she was awesome. Demont is the best bartender in town, make sure to say hi! Parking can be a challenge during peak hours, but usually available within a short distance. ”
“ We arrived at the restaurant around 6:35 and we were told it’d be a 10 minute wait but we weren’t seated until 7:18. I’m not blaming this on the establishment; I know that the wait time simply depends on when customers leave. I just wanted to include it so that people would know that time slot is busy at this location. It was the ending of the dinner rush so it was still very packed. We visited with 4 adults and a baby. The atmosphere was great! Everything was incredibly clean and refined. Once seated our server, Nicholas, was phenomenal. He was very attentive and charismatic, giving us tips on the menu and helping us order. His service sealed the 10/10 experience. The food was amazing, hot and flavorful. I’m not a huge fan of burgers but I was pleasantly surprised. Around 8pm the restaurant started to die down and tables started emptying, so that’s a much better time to visit. There’s also a pool table in the back which makes this the perfect place to go with a group of friends, order some good food and just hang out. I’m not surprised the wait time was longer than expected; we didn’t want to leave either! ”
“ Phenomenal food and spirits! I had the olive burger and moonshine lemonade. My friend had the Rueben, patty melt and their house lager. Sooooooo freakin good. You have to get their brussel sprouts! ”
“ Cook’s Burger Bar is a true gem and one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed with the theming. it has the perfect balance of retro charm and modern style. The atmosphere is inviting and fun, making it a great spot for families or anyone who just loves a good meal in a stylish setting. The staff deserves a mention right away. Every team member we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. Even though the restaurant was busy, they took the time to answer questions and check in on us, which made the whole experience feel personal and welcoming. Now for the food... wow! The Brussels sprouts were nothing short of incredible. Crispy, flavorful, and seasoned perfectly, they were hands-down the best I’ve ever had. I could’ve made a meal just out of those. We also tried the Farmer’s Fries, and they were excellent. I love that they’re cooked in tallow, giving them a unique flavor and a lighter, less greasy feel than typical fries. The burgers, though, are the real stars here. I ordered the Classic Burger, and I have to say it’s the best burger I’ve ever eaten, juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. My mom went with the Southern Pub Burger and agreed it was probably the best she’s ever had as well. Her highlight was the fried green tomato were thin and not thick. My dad ordered the Mushroom and Swiss and, although he didn’t say much, he finished every bite without stopping, always a good sign! Even the kids’ menu impressed us. My youngest had the mac and cheese, which came with Goldfish crackers, applesauce, and a small serving of fries. She loved every bit of it and felt special with her own fun little meal. The drinks didn’t disappoint either. The sweet tea was fresh and perfectly sweetened it tasted like it was made with care, not from a mix. Overall, Cook’s Burger Bar delivers on every level: atmosphere, service, and food. The portions are generous, the quality is top-notch, and the prices are very fair for what you get. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. If you’re anywhere nearby, this is a must-try spot. ”
